Moshi Health Facilities The Moshi Campus has a Health Centre staffed by a fully-qualified resident school nurse. In addition to a consulting room, the centre contains bedrooms for students who need to remain for extended periods in order to receive medical care. Boarding students have access to the Health Centre 24 hours a day and the nurse is able to provide basic medication, care and advice or to refer them to a doctor. The school doctor has a private surgery a short distance from the school and is also on call at all times, day or night. The school has the advantage of being only 2km from one of the largest teaching hospitals in Tanzania, and any hospital referrals can be quickly and effectively dealt with by one of the many specialists available. All medical care provided by the school nurse or school doctor is included in the boarding fees. However, parents are advised to take out medical insurance to cover dental treatment, emergency evacuation, hospital treatment or treatment required outside the Moshi area. The school's medical facilities and environment are reviewed by a qualified practitioner from time to time. All parents are asked to complete a Health Form for their children before admission. These forms are available from the Download page on this site. Return to home page |
