School Fees AccountsAs you will know the School will be changing from using pounds sterling to use US dollars as our base currency from the coming school year. This means that the fees for 2007/08 will be expressed in US dollars. We would like to convert all student fees accounts from GBP to USD before issuing any invoices for next school year; we will therefore convert all fees accounts to US dollars on 31st March 2007 using the median bid rate for conversion on that day. If you have a credit or a debit balance on the fees account this will be converted to US dollars on that date. Any payments on invoices which have already been issued but which do not fall due for payment until after 31st March will also be converted from GBP to US dollars at the same exchange rate. The school's accounts office will be unable to receive payments for fees on 2nd or 3rd April whilst this conversion is taking place. If you have any questions, please contact the Finance Manager at school.

Students in other classes will receive a grade card (similar to those issued in October and December) indicating their achievement and effort grades over this term. End of Term ArrangementsClasses will finish on Friday, 23rd March when we break for the holidays. Secondary classes will finish by 10:15am with a short assembly. These will be followed by parent meetings in Karibu Hall from 10:30am to 12 noon at which all teachers of secondary students will be available to meet with parents to discuss their child's report and progress. Secondary students will be free to leave from 10:15am. Primary classes will continue until 12:35 on this day. We would again request that students attend until the end of classes whenever possible - early departures make it difficult for classes to be as effective as we would like.
Arrangements for IB2 studentsOur IB2 students will be taking written examinations in May and will receive their final results on 6th July. In order to give them sufficient time for independent study prior to exams, formal classes will end on Friday, 20th April. Day students will not be required talto come to school and, if they choose not to, it will be assumed and expected that they will be studying at home. Boarders may remain in school and study in their rooms or the library or meet with teachers; alternatively, with parental consent, they may return home to study there. The Graduation Ceremony for the IB2 students will be on Saturday 26th May at 2pm. Parents of graduands will be invited to a dinner in Moshi the previous evening. Admission to both the dinner and the graduation ceremony itself will be by invitation only as there is limited space available. If you are not a parent of a graduating student and would like to receive an invitation to the ceremony, please let me know.
Arrangements for S5 studentsThe S5 students will finish their formal classes on Friday, 4th May. After that day their arrangements for school attendance are similar to those described above for the IB2 students.
