I am also very proud to announce that ISM has received full authorization for the IB Middle Years Programme from the IBO. As with the PYP authorization reports, these MYP reports will provide a good road map for the development of MYP at ISM this year. All of the IBO reports are posted on our website. I want to thank all of our teachers who worked so hard last year on the pre-authorization and authorization visits and all the documentation that was required. They have achieved an important first in ISM’s history. Bringing in MYP now aligns our curriculum with the school’s philosophy and objectives and helps clearly define who we are. I especially want to thank our MYP Co-ordinators, Jeff Holcomb and Steve Brown, for their inspiration and work ethic during the process. Of course, ISM will be offering the IGCSE to our S5 students this year and they will be the final class to participate in that programme. Fee payments are now past due, but the accounts office can see several unidentified deposits into the school’s account. It would be a great help if you could send the details of your fees transfer – date, issuing bank details, student name etc… as soon as possible. Please send to . Otherwise, we will ask your indulgence if you receive a payment reminder and a surcharge invoice. As we mentioned last term, students who have not paid at least the first term’s fees will not be allowed to join on the first day of classes. Last week Moshi Campus hosted an ISM reunion with more than 250 participants. Alumni reconnected with old classmates and made new friends during a week of activities. In addition, $25,000 was pledged at the event for the ISM Scholarship fund enabling us to admit one additional female student into D1 this year! We expect a very good year ahead at ISM and I look forward to meeting you in the coming weeks. Students who do receive detentions must attend at the time given, and this may therefore impact on travel plans on Friday afternoons.ISM Alumni ReunionLast week we were very happy to welcome back to ISM about 250 ex-students who joined us from across the world for a series of events and social gatherings.
