Dear Parents,

Congratulations to the cast of Play On for their excellent performance in Karibu Hall last night. Tonight's performance at 7:30pm will be the last one and tickets will be available at the door. Congratulations also to all those who struggled hard up Kilimanjaro last weekend and to the group who reached Gilman's Point.

Both Monday and Tuesday next week, 8th and 9th December, are public holidays. Classes will now resume for secondary students on Wednesday morning at 7:30am. Boarders who have travelled home for the weekend should return to school by 6pm on Tuesday.
Boarding Trip
All primary boarders and many of those in M1 to M5 who have not travelled home will be leaving on Saturday morning to spend the weekend at the school's house in Pangani on the Indian Ocean coast. We expect the group to return to school on Monday evening. Other activities are planned for those boarders remaining on campus for the weekend.

All primary students have now received their Term 1 reports. Parent interviews are scheduled for Wednesday December 10th throughout the day. Parents of primary boarding students may, on request to Keiron White at , receive a copy of their child's report by email.

I would like to thank both KCMC and Bonite Bottlers for their assistance in checking our water supply.
A New Leader for ISM
I hope that you received the letter from Barry Sutherland last week announcing that he will be stepping down as CEO in June 2009. We are now starting the process of seeking a new leader for the school who will plan our development over the next few years. The Board will be meeting later this month and will be discussing the process in detail. Meanwhile a preliminary advertisement for the position has been posted at http://www.cois.org/page.cfm?p=534.

Community and Service
We had a very successful mini football tournament last Friday with ISM playing Kidachini Primary School. As a prize Mr Dawson had organised for a goat to be barbequed. Unfortunately it was not quite cooked by the end of the tournament so on Monday afternoon Desmond Mushi D2, Chris Dawson and myself took it up to the primary school and to the delight of the football players they all got roast goat to eat and take home. Thanks to the following students for coaching Kidachini football players; Desmond D2, Tumaini D1, Abraham D1, Mali D1, Stephan D1, Ben D1, Tom D1, Kunj D1 and Parmenas D1

On Wednesday it was the Day Care Centre Graduation and thanks to Shantal D1 we all had a slice of yummy chocolate cake! Suzan D2 presented the Graduation Certificates. Big thanks to the following for attending: Swimming coaches: Sozi M2 ,Hannah M1, Lusajo M1, Salama M1, Naomi M3, Anita D1 and Shantal D1 and Day Care Student teachers: Abid D2 and Amanda D2 Wall mural designer: Yona D2 (please do go and look at the new painting on the side of the classroom. It's great!)

The M1's have just completed a joint Maths and English project which involved collecting data from the Day care Centre and the result was that they made illustrated Story books which they presented to the youngsters at the Centre also on Wednesday.

All in all I had a great culinary week, eating succulent roast goat, beautifully prepared by Sabini, on Monday and delicious chocolate cake on Wednesday!
