Moshi Campus News - 8th October 2009

Dear Parents,

As we reach the end of the first quarter, a quick reminder about arrangements for the last day:
Friday, 9th October
Secondary students will be free to leave school from 10:15am on Friday. Parents of secondary students are invited to meet with your child's teachers in Karibu Hall between 10:30am and 12 noon to discuss any issues or comments arising from the report that was issued yesterday. We hope to have the opportunity to meet many parents on this occasion.

Primary classes will finish at 12:35pm as usual on a Friday.
SAT Tests
Students who have already registered to take the SAT tests on Saturday, 10th October will start at 8am on Saturday. Boarders are welcome to remain in boarding on Friday night if preparing for this test.
Kilimanjaro Rugby Sevens
We hope that many from Moshi and Arusha will wish to see and support the annual Kilimanjaro Rugby Sevens taking place on Moshi Campus all day on Saturday, 10th October.
ISM 40th Anniversary - Raffle Tickets
Your child will be bringing home a couple of raffle tickets and we hope that you will want to buy these. The prizes available are fantastic including many hotel stays and free flights (see details at www.ismoshi.org/raffle.htm) and all proceeds are going towards the school's Scholarship Fund. More raffle tickets are available to buy from Reception in school on both campuses, or can be bought online using a credit card at www.ismoshi.org/raffle.htm. Unsold raffle tickets should be returned to the school reception.

ISM 40th Anniversary - Dinner Dance
We hope that many parents, friends of ISM and alumni will join us for a Dinner Dance in the Arusha Hotel on Friday, 23rd October. Tickets cost TSh 25,000/- per person and are on sale in reception on both campuses.

ISM 40th Anniversary - Sports Weekend
Preparations are well under way for a sports weekend for the secondary students from both campuses to celebrate the 40th Anniversary. This will be on Saturday and Sunday, 24th/25th October on the Moshi Campus. We are expecting that nearly all secondary students from Moshi will want to participate and are also expecting a large contingent of students from Arusha Campus.

ISM 40th Anniversary - T Shirts
T-shirts to celebrate the anniversary are now on sale in the Reception area at ONLY TSh 6000/- each. They are available in the three house colours of Blue (Kibo), Green (Mawenzi) and Yellow (Meru). We would like to encourage all students to buy the T-Shirt for their house to wearon the Sports weekend and for other future house competitions.

Holidays
I wish you all an enjoyable break with your child/children over our holidays and look forward to all returning fresh for the new quarter. Boarders should return on Tuesday, 20th October and classes will restart at 7:30am on Wednesday, 21st October. If your child needs to be met from Kilimanjaro Airport or if other transport help is needed, please contact Sunita Somaiya or myself.
