    Return to School
Boarders should return to school tomorrow on Monday, 12th April, preferably before 6pm. If you want us to meet your child at the airport and have not yet confirmed flight details, please send full details including flight number and time of arrival at Kilimanjaro to Sunita Somaiya today on .

Classes begin at 07:30 as usual on Tuesday, 13th April and Tuesday will be a normal school day. Secondary CAS and Sports activities will take place as scheduled on Tuesday afternoon.
    Counselling
We would like to remind you that Dr Boniventura Balige is available in school every Tuesday afternoon from 3pm to 5pm in the library. Dr Balige offers a drop-in counselling service for any student who needs support. No appointments are needed and there are no costs to the student or family. Teachers may also suggest that a student sees Dr Balige if they feel that support is needed.
    MYP Personal Projects
Our M5 students completed their personal projects last quarter and will be presenting these to other students and to parents on Wednesday, 14th April between 10:35 and 15:00 with an open viewing session for parents from 15:00 to 16:30. Parents of students in M4/M5 will find a more detailed letter on this attached to this newsletter - others may also download it from www.ismoshi.org/PPletter100409.pdf.

In addition, parents of M4 students who are just beginning their personal projects, are invited to an open evening on Tuesday, 20th April at 6:30pm to learn more about the personal project that their son/daughter will be engaged in.
    M5 Ceremony
The end of year ceremony to mark the completion of the M5 students' MYP programme, will now be held on Tuesday, 8th June in the afternoon. More details will follow closer to this date.

All Primary Clubs will start on Monday April 19th. (Please note that secondary CAS activities and Sports will start on Tuesday, 13th April)

Recorder Club: Only P3/4 students who had initially signed up at the beginning of the year for the Recorder Club will be continuing this quarter.

Thank you to all the parents for their support last quarter. - Rosi Uluiviti (Head of Primary)

    Scholarship Student News
We would all like to congratulate Abraham Ng'hwani who has been awarded the Reginaldo Howard Memorial Scholarship at Duke University in the USA. This scholarship pays all his university expenses for four years and includes an additional $5000 for educational research, leadership endeavours or service projects. As Duke University says, this scholarship "is offered to only a select number of students whose talents and interests and civic engagement locally and globally will, we believe, enhance the educational atmosphere and intellectual life of Duke. There are few opportunities in life as special as the one we are offering you." Abraham was selected from amongst thousands of applicants worldwide.

We look forward to welcoming Priscilla Makundi and Wolfgang Seiya to our D1 class as boarders in August. These two students from St Francis Girls Secondary School and Majengo Secondary School respectively performed exceptionally well in their national Form Four examinations and in interviews conducted in school last month and we are very pleased to offer them full scholarships in ISM for the next two years.
