Dear Parents,Macbeth on the LoosePerformances will take place 7 p.m. on Thursday, 28th and Friday, 29th February on the Arusha Campus.Tickets are 3,000 Tsh for adults and 1,000 Tsh for students, available from Meat King and ISMAC reception. Anyone travelling from Moshi can book their tickets at the Moshi Campus reception and then pay for them and pick them up at the door on the night. There will be refreshments available during the interval. Weekend Use of Swimming PoolI would like to remind parents that the pool is available for use but you are required to obtain a membership card.Unfortunately, over the last couple of weeks there have been some incidences where non-members have been using the pool and the grounds without permission. This has caused a few problems. We would like the pool to be available for families and individuals and we certainly wish to maintain a good family atmosphere for the pool area. If you wish to come onto the campus at the weekend to use the pool you will only be allowed entry if you are a member. Membership cards are available from reception. Daily passes may only be bought from reception during the week. They will no longer be available on weekends for sale.

Copyright and use of student workIn order for us to be able to send students' work to assessment bodies such as the IBO for assessment, we are required to ensure that we (ISM) has a legal licence to do so. We also want to be able to sue student work for our own in-school teacher training and for display purposes. We are therefore planning to introduce the following policy:"This policy relates to all work created by International School Moshi students as part of a course of study within the school, using any materials provided by the school, or undertaken under the guidance of a teacher in the school. Such work is the copyright of the student who created the work; however the student is deemed to have granted International School Moshi a non-exclusive world-wide licence for the duration of the statutory copyright protection to use the materials for reference, display, training, publicity or other purposes and to retain or reproduce the material as necessary for these purposes. Normally the student may apply to have this work permanently returned to them and to keep this work twelve months after they leave the school. Student work submitted by the School to the IBO or other assessment body is deemed to have been licensed to that assessment body for use as described above." Capital Development FeesIn another move to encourage increased enrolment, the Board has now agreed to spread Capital Development Fee payments over three years. Hence, instead of a new student needing to pay $2150 in Capital Development Fees before joining the school or before moving to P1, parents can now pay $700 per year for three years.Upcoming Events
Adrian Moody Head of Campus Secondary NewsReflecting on our school communityStudents in the secondary have been asked to do some reflection this week on the school’s objectives of motivating people to become principled, open-minded and caring. On Monday, secondary students will have an assembly dealing with issues related to these qualities, particularly in being inclusive in our friendships and understanding and accepting of people’s differences. We ask all students and their families to spend some time this weekend discussing what being principled, open-minded and caring mean to your family. What are your family values? What is important to you? How do you show these qualities within your family? With these ideas in the students' minds, it will be easier for them to make sense of how those qualities apply in a school setting, and to help contribute to our work in strengthening our community. S5 Art & Design examsThe S5 class had an intense two days on Wednesday and Thursday, sitting their Art & Design IGCSE mock examination. They worked hard and put a great deal of thought, creativity and effort into their work. It’s the final piece in their mock examination schedule getting them ready for the real exams. Art & Design will be the first of their actual examinations, as we will quickly have them go through the process again while the work and feedback is fresh in their minds. The full examination timetable will begin in May, and has been given to the students. (It is also posted on the school’s website.)Upcoming TripsPlease note the following class trips for your diaries:-
