Adrian Moody Head of Campus Secondary NewsBravo!!A hearty congratulations to all the students and teachers who were involved with the play, Macbeth on the Loose. It was a terrific production - fun and entertaining. The actors did brilliantly and the stage crew, lighting and sound team, and all the folks who worked behind the scenes to make the show happen all did a terrific job. Well done, one and all!Field Study TripsOn Monday (3 March), the M4 class will head off to Babati for a week-long trip focusing on 'interpretation' and their guiding question for the term, 'How and why do interpretations differ?' They will head off to Kolo to see the ancient rock paintings in the Kondoa region, and will create their own artistic interpretations. It should be a fun and educational trip, in which the students should gain a greater understanding of Tanzanian Art and History. Mike Johnson, and his wife, Tangi, will join a crew of Moshi teachers in leading the trip. Safari njema! The following week, (10 - 13 March), the M1 class will head off towards Lakes Manyara and Eyasi to investigate 'Rift Valley Lakes: Why are things Changing?' They will be looking at the issues involving the environment and the communities of the area. Annette Wood will join a number of Moshi teachers in leading that trip. MYP TrainingDuring the coming weeks, several teachers will be heading off to MYP training workshops. These will be valuable experiences for the teachers and for the school, as the teachers will gain greater knowledge and understanding of the programme and how best to instruct the students. Students will have only a brief period of classes in April before the IGCSE examinations begin in May, so this is a final summative assessment for the year. EOTC (Education Outside the Classroom Experience) Experiences at ISMAC!P5/6 EOTC ExperienceCongratulations to all the P5/6 students, teachers, teaching assistants, drivers and parents for supporting this successful learning experience outside the classroom with students and adults from both campuses. As a team we have reflected on the camp in terms of aspects we found to be successful, challenges and improvements we can make for future EOTC experiences. I would like to congratulate all the students for their commitment to ensuring the camp was a safe, fun learning experience. This was evidenced in the way they worked cooperatively in groups, moved in and around the camp, shared their knowledge and their respectful interactions with everyone in the group. I have to say I continue to feel a sense a pride in our students personal, emotional and social developments. P3/4 EOTC Experience This week our P3/4 classes, as part of their unit of inquiry about children’s rights and people helping people visited a number of schools and orphanages in our local area. Students used their knowledge of interviewing and Swahili to engage in a number of information gathering tasks. I would like to thank the parents who provided transport, your support is most appreciated. P1/2 EOTC Experience Next Tuesday our P1/2 classes will join forces to share in an afternoon of culminating activities to celebrate their knowledge and understanding of what it means to make healthy living choices. Parents are invited to share in a healthy picnic, healthy exercise and afternoon of fun. EC EOTC Experience Coming soon!
