Secondary Art
This week Mwandale, a scultptress from Mtwara based in Bagamoyo, visited M4 and M3 art classes to demonstrate her skills in clay. As students observed she sculpted a baby face in mask format. M4 had the opportunity to experiment with some of the techniques she modeled. Mwandale's favourite sculpting medium is wood. She goes to the forest herself to collect the mature wood of fallen trees. Her work was on exhibition last week at Umoja Arts Centre. We appreciate the time she spent with secondary students while here in Arusha.

If you wish to donate to the shade netting project donations may be given to Lucas in the accounts office who will issue a receipt.

M5 students are working hard to complete the products of their Personal Project. One student got an extra boost this week with his Personal Project already showing signs of being a success. Darsh Pandit decided to offer his musical talents to local Tanzanian musicians by mixing their music and cutting promotional CDs. His aim is to identify local talent, help to promote them and get them started in the competitive music industry. One of Darsh's rising talents has been offered a recording contract and will have a music video made.
