We are pleased that the new Director for next year, Bob Woods, will be visiting ISM during the week of May 4th through the 8th. He will visit both campuses.Fees next Year
We are currently in the process of preparing invoices for the next academic year. You may pay tuition either in one complete payment for the whole school year
which must be received before 1st July 2009, or in four installments. If you wish to make payment by instalments please notify Lucas in accounts. Please note that on Arusha Campus, kindergarten children have the option of
staying for lunch and an extended school day at an additional fee of $1000 per annum.Notice of Withdrawal
I would like to remind parents that they are responsible for providing 30 school days' (excluding weekends and school holidays) written notice of
withdrawal of a child from school, in lieu of which they are liable to pay half a term's fees. Therefore, if you are intending not to return next academic year please let me
know in plenty of time with written notice.Pool
The pool cleaning pump has broken down and the replacement part needed has to come from Nairobi. So the pool will not be able to be cleaned for a week.
Although the chlorination system will continue to work, the pool floor will not be cleared. Therefore, the pool will need to be closed for a week.Pool Parties
A quick reminder that if you wish to book the pool for a birthday party to please email me directly. We are happy for parents to use the pool for this purpose after
classes but advance notice is necessary.ABRSM Practical Exams

Adrian Moody Head of Campus Secondary NewsDear Parents,Welcome back!
I hope all our students and families enjoyed a good break during the past few weeks. It's good to see everyone rested and excited for the last few months of
school!M3 Field Study Trip: Tuesday, 21 April to Thursday, 23 April
On Tuesday morning, Ms. Romero and Ms. Gorman will take the M3 students to join up with the students from Moshi at UAACC, the United African Alliance Community Centre. This centre is committed towards promoting the arts and educating students and adults in artistic skills and traditions. The Arts teachers at ISM have put together an exciting programme of activities for the students to explore the development of art pieces (using the term's guiding question, "What affects development?"), focusing on environmental art. Students will be using Drama, Music and Visual Arts to answer the question, "How do nature and the environment help to develop artistic expression?" It should be a fun, exciting and stimulating trip. Safari njema!M4 Work Experience
Next week, the M4 students will be off timetable and off campus for their weeklong work experience. This experience, organized by Mr. Schofield as part of the Life Skills class, is designed to provide students with first-hand experience in a work situation, enabling them to develop practical skills in communication, being responsible, and being committed in a professional environment. Students will record their experiences and present them later in the month. Kazi njema!OP Trips
There are a number of OP trips planned for the next few weeks. Mr. Schofield is doing a terrific job of encouraging our students (and teachers!) in taking these opportunities to be risk-takers who push themselves in a challenging and exciting endeavour. Good luck to the hikers. I wish you smooth trails, clear skies and light packs!Regards John Iglar Head of Secondary Primary NewsDear Parents,Welcome back to another action packed last quarter We would especially like to welcome our new students: Lynn & Nandi Rieks, Joni Jones-Bearcroft and Nailah Nyiti. Through observations over the past few days, it appears that they are settling into their new surroundings with growing ease and confidence. Teaching and Learning
During our in service day on Tuesday primary teachers from both campuses as well as the PE and Music department teachers enjoyed making connections and putting 'best practice' teaching and learning into action. As part of our Physical Education and Personal & Social Education Curriculum Review we were led by Ms. Natalie Croome through how to best incorporate inquiry into these lessons. This term students will be exploring skills and creativity in both Dance and Gymnastics. This will result in a whole school culminating Dance Exhibition on Friday June 12th. We would also like to invite you a PE in the PYP workshop later this term.Music Talent Show
Mark your calendars for Friday 8th May when you will be able to come and see ISMAC primary musical talents on display at our Share Time Assembly. Students will be auditioning to take part with Miss Andy over the next 2 weeks.Primary Handbook Review
