Moshi Primary News - 4 December 06
Dear Parents,
P1/2 Class Assembly
This Friday, December 8th is the P1/2 Class Assembly on their current unit of inquiry ‘Young Einstein’s’. The assembly will be in Room 15 and will start at 9:30am promptly. Please come and join us!
End of Term Assembly
The end of term assembly is on December 21st at 11am in Karibu Hall. The Kindergarten students will stay at school on that day until the assembly is finished. We hope that you can join us for Music, Dance, Jump Rope and Special Certificates.
Teacher in Kindergarten Class for Terms Two and Three
I would like to inform you all that Ms. Patricia van Aarst will be teaching the Kindergarten Class during the second and third term of the current academic year. Many of you already know Patricia who was a teacher in the Primary School at ISM for many years. Patricia is really looking forward to the role.
Ms. Sarah will take maternity leave for the second term of the school year and will return in her capacity as PYP Coordinator for the final term of the year.
Indoor Shoes
We now have wooden shoe racks for each primary class so that wet and/or dirty shoes can be stored neatly when the students are wearing their indoor shoes. Please ensure that your child has a pair of indoor shoes, which should stay at school for use when they are required. Students should have indoor shoes even if they get dropped off at school because the playground is often muddy and this either causes the classrooms to get very muddy after break times or students have to go around barefoot which is not appropriate for school. This can be a pair of malapas.
Bake Sale
We would like to organise a primary bake sale next Friday December 15th at 10:15am with the theme of Christmas. The last time we had a bake sale I asked for parents to come to school to bake some cakes with the students but I only had one offer. I am hoping that there are a few parents (one per class ideally) that could come and spend a morning baking with the students to prepare cakes to be sold on the 15th. Please let me know if you can join us on any day next week. If you cannot come into school to bake with the students maybe your child could assist you at home to bake your family’s contribution.
Mid Year Reports
The students will receive their reports on Wednesday December 20th. Class teachers will be available on Thursday December 21st and Friday December 22nd after school to discuss the report with you if you have any concerns. Please make an appointment directly with the class teacher.
Choir
Mr. Jones would like to advise the members of the Junior Choir that the Choir session on Monday December 11th is cancelled, as he cannot attend at that time. There will be Choir on Monday December 18th to prepare for the end of term assembly.
Lost Property
This will be laid out behind the Staff room on Monday December 4th and Tuesday December 5th (weather permitting) to see if some, of the many items, can be reclaimed. If any lost property remains after this day it will be washed in the laundry and given to one of the local orphanages.
Magazines and Material
If you have any old magazines or left over pieces of material that are no longer required by yourself please send them in to school as we are very short of both of these.
Regards
Mrs Kathy Slocombe
Head of Primary
