Dear Parents, Welcome back to the second term of school and I hope that you all had an enjoyable Christmas holiday. I would like to welcome two new students to the P1/2 class, Safiya Gulamhusein (P1) and Samuel Mwase (P2). We all hope that they enjoy their time with us at ISM. I would also like to welcome Bibiana Gali who will be working as the class assistant in P1/2 for this term whilst Catherine is on maternity leave. Catherine had a baby girl last Sunday (January 14th) and mother and baby are doing well. After School ClubsAfter School Clubs begin next Monday January 22nd at 2pm and will continue until Thursday May 31st. Please remind your child(ren) that the first week of clubs is a ‘trial week’. If they discover that they do not like any of their chosen clubs then they must inform me straightaway so that I can remove their name from the relevant club list. If your child(ren) decide to remain in the club after the trial week then they must show that they are committed to that club by attending it every week. The person leading the club will be keeping a register of their club and will inform me of those children who are attending their clubs irregularly. Please note that there have been a few reports of inappropriate behaviour in the clubs during Term 1. If any student is behaving inappropriately they will be asked to leave that club and will not be able to return for the rest of the school year. Tennis LessonsMussa is a local tennis coach who currently coaches some teachers here at ISM. He would like to inform parents that he is available for tennis coaching on an individual or group basis. Individual lessons are Tsh 5,000 per hour and group lessons are Tsh 5,000 for a one and a half hour lesson. If you are interested in tennis lessons contact Mussa on 0753 604869.December ReportsMany thanks to the parents who have signed and returned the second copy of your child’s December report. If you have not returned this sheet could you sign it and return it to your child’s class teacher as soon as possible.Assembly RotaThe assembly rota for Term 2 is given below for your reference (Fridays 09:30-10:00).
N.B. Every assembly Mrs. Slocombe will award Eddy Elephants and organise a Birthday song.
