International School Moshi is seeking applications from teachers to work on either Moshi or Arusha Campus from 1st August 2017. All applicants must have a degree and teaching qualification and should preferably have a minimum of two years international teaching experience.

Moshi Campus

Head of Learning Support

An experienced Learning Support teacher is needed to coordinate and manage the learning support department, providing support for students from primary to secondary with mild or moderate learning needs. The Head of Learning support will work with both ESL and Learning Support teachers and manage a number of teaching assistants in the department. He/she will also provide advice to the leadership team on policy and practices relating to Learning Support and advise on admissions of students with learning needs.

French Teacher: MYP and Diploma

We are seeking an experienced French Language Acquisition / French B teacher to teach a number of different MYP classes as well as combined HL/SL diploma classes. Previous IB experience is an advantage but is not required.

Early Childhood Teacher

This is a 75% position to teach an early childhood class of 3 to 5 year olds. PYP experience is a considerable advantage.

Girls’ Boarding Parent

This 50% position is open to female applicants who are also qualified teachers. Previous experience of working with students in a residential setting would be a great advantage. This could be combined with other positions to make a full-time contract.

Primary Physical Education

A 40%-50% position for a qualified teacher to lead the Physical Education and Sports programmes in the primary school. This could be combined with other positions to make a full-time contract.

Counsellor

This 40%-50% position is for an experienced social/emotional counsellor to support the boarding and day students on the Moshi Campus. This could be combined with other positions to make a full-time contract.

Arusha Campus

Head of Primary

The holder of this position will have full responsibility for teaching and learning within the primary school and he/she will also act as the campus’ PYP Coordinator. Applicants should have a good working knowledge of the PYP and have held leadership responsibilities in the past. The Head of Primary will also serve on the school’s Senior Leadership Team.

IB Diploma Coordinator

This part-time position will need to be combined with diploma (or MYP) teaching in a subject area. The ideal candidate will have previous strong IB diploma experience and have demonstrated readiness to lead a diploma programme in the school.

Chemistry Teacher: MYP and Diploma

We are seeking an experienced science teacher who can teach Chemistry to IB Diploma Higher Level and also teach some MYP Chemistry and Integrated Science classes. Previous IB experience is an advantage but is not required.

French Teacher: MYP and Diploma

We are seeking an experienced French Language Acquisition / French B teacher to teach a number of different MYP classes as well as combined HL/SL diploma classes. Previous IB experience is an advantage but is not required.

MYP Mathematics Teacher

The applicant for this position will ideally be able to teach Mathematics to a full range of MYP classes. Previous IB experience is an advantage but is not required.

Primary Class Teacher

This position is for a full time class teacher to teach a class of children in the 9 to 11 years range. Previous PYP experience is a considerable advantage.

It is important to include details of any family members who may accompany you; we are unlikely to offer employment to a spouse unless as part of a teaching couple and local employment opportunities are extremely limited. Current Tanzanian regulations mean that we are only able to consider teachers under fifty five years of age.
