We have the following vacancies on our Moshi Campus and on our Arusha Campus to start at the beginning of August 2015:

Moshi Campus

Chemistry / Environmental Systems

We are seeking a teacher of Chemistry to teach IB Diploma classes up to Higher Level, and to teach Chemistry to Middle Years students (M4/M5) and Integrated Science to younger MYP students. We will also ask this teacher to teach the IB course in Environmental Systems & Societies in the IB Diploma. Experience in teaching International Baccalaureate programmes is a definite advantage.

English

We will need a secondary teacher who can teach both English as a first language (including literature) and English as a second language within both the MYP and Diploma programmes. An ability to teach Theory of Knowledge or experience in teaching drama may be an advantage, but is not required. Experience in teaching International Baccalaureate programmes is a definite advantage.

Swahili

We are seeking a teacher to teach Swahili within all three programmes (PYP, MYP and Diploma). Whilst the majority of this role will be foreign or second language teaching, some first language teaching will also be required. Experience of teaching Swahili in an international school environment would be a significant advantage.

All teachers are expected to contribute to our various activities programmes.

Arusha Campus

There a number of possible combinations to the varied responsibilities posted below.  More specifically, two positions consist of a combination of the following roles: Design, Physical & Health Education, Biology and Life Skills. In addition, the Primary French position could be combined with responsibilities in the Secondary.

English/Drama

We seek a Secondary teacher of Secondary Diploma Years (DP) English, of Middle Years Programme (MYP) English and of MYP Drama. This most likely involves teaching DP Language B English, MYP English Language & Literature, and MYP Drama to all year levels (M1-M5). An ability to teach Theory of Knowledge may be an advantage but is not required. Experience in teaching DP and/or MYP is a definite advantage.

Design with a) Sports & Activities Coordinator/Physical & Health Education or b) Life Skills

We seek a Secondary teacher of Design (Information and Design Technology) to teach IB MYP classes. This position also involves other responsibilities such as Sports & Activities Coordinator/teaching MYP Physical & Health Education, or alternatively with teaching Life Skills. Experience in teaching MYP is a definite advantage. The Sports & Activities Coordinator/P&HE position can also be combined with a Biology and Life Skills position.

Biology with a) Sports & Activities Coordinator/Physical & Health Education or b) Life Skills

We seek a Secondary teacher of Biology to teach IB DP and MYP classes. This position also involves other responsibilities such as Sports & Activities Coordinator/teaching MYP Physical & Health Education, or alternatively with teaching MYP Life Skills. Experience in teaching DP and MYP is a definite advantage. The Sports & Activities Coordinator/P&HE position can also be combined with a Design and Life Skills position.

Swahili

We are seeking a teacher to teach Swahili within the PYP and MYP, and possibly Diploma Programme. Whilst the majority of this role will be foreign or second language teaching, some first language teaching may also be required. Experience of teaching Swahili in an international school environment would be a significant advantage.

Primary French

We seek a part-time Primary (PYP) teacher of French. This position could be combined with a role in the Secondary (see positions above).

 

All teachers are expected to contribute to our various activities programmes.

It is important to include details of any family members who may accompany you; we are unlikely to offer employment to a spouse unless as part of a teaching couple and local employment opportunities are extremely limited. Current Tanzanian regulations mean that we are only able to consider teachers under fifty five years of age.
