International School Moshi is now seeking applications from teachers to work on either Moshi or Arusha Campus from 1st August 2016. All applicants must have a degree and teaching qualification and should preferably have a minimum of two years international teaching experience.

Moshi Campus Positions

Drama

We will need a Drama specialist to lead our Drama programme and teach Drama to our MYP classes. An ability to teach English as a second language classes will be ideal. Previous MYP experience would be beneficial.

Visual Art

We are seeking an experienced Art teacher who will teach both MYP and IB Diploma classes. Previous IB experience will be a considerable advantage.

Music

Our class Music programme extends from P1 to M5 and our Music teacher will be excited about teaching throughout the PYP and MYP programmes. He/she will also be ready to lead and strengthen the various arts activities available to students in our CAS programme as well as to coordinate a programme of individual musical instrument lessons for students taught by visiting instrument teachers. Previous PYP or MYP experience will be a considerable advantage.

Mathematics

We are seeking a 50% Mathematics teacher who could combine this with another role (such as boarding or MYP coordination). Ideally the teacher would be able to teach both Diploma and MYP classes, but consideration could also be given to other possibilities.

Boarding Parent

We will have both male and female boarding parent positions available from August 2016. These positions are 50% positions only and could suit an accompanying spouse, or could be combined with another teaching position to constitute a full time position. Boarding parents will live in accommodation adjacent to a student boarding house. They will be members of the boarding team working to ensure a safe, healthy and engaging environment for our boarding students. They will be responsible for the care and supervision of boarders at all times when students are not in class and will share these responsibilities with assistant boarding parents so that suitable free time can also be arranged. This role involves significant evening and weekend work.

Primary PE & Sports

We are seeking a specialist to teach our primary Physical Education classes within the PYP and to coordinate and lead the sports programme throughout the Primary School. This is a 50% position which could be combined with a boarding parent role or another teaching position.

Visual Arts (part-time)

We will need a teacher for a small number of MYP Art classes in August 2016. As this will not be a full-time position, it could be combined with another teaching area or with a boarding parent role.

Other Positions

We are also seeking a number of other positions to fill which would need to be combined with one or more of the positions advertised above:

  • MYP Coordinator
  • Theory of Knowledge teaching in IBDP

Arusha Campus positions

Primary Class Teacher

We are seeking an Upper Primary class teacher to teach in our vibrant Primary section. Previous PYP experience would be advantageous but not essential. An ability to offer extra curricular expertise to our Co Curricular Activity and Sports programme would also be an advantage.

Design

We are seeking a Design teacher who can teach the MYP Design programme to all classes in M1 to M5. The Design teacher may also be expected to teach an M1 Mathematics class. He/she may also consider what other skills could be offered to the school. MYP Design experience would be a significant advantage.

Other Positions

We are also seeking a number of other positions to fill which would need to be combined with one or more of the positions advertised above:

  • MYP Personal Project Coordinator

It is important to include details of any family members who may accompany you; we are unlikely to offer employment to a spouse unless as part of a teaching couple and local employment opportunities are extremely limited. Current Tanzanian regulations mean that we are only able to consider teachers under fifty five years of age.
