Kilimanjaro Marathon & Fun Run - 1 March 2009

Want to have fun and make a difference to peoples' lives?
Join the ISM race team in the Kilimanjaro Marathon and Fun Run 2009!

What is the event?

ISM will enter a group of runners and walkers into the full and half marathon, and the 5km Fun Run during the Kilimanjaro Marathon 2009.

Who can participate?

All students from age 10 and upwards, parents and teachers are eligible to enter the ISM race team participating in the 5km Fun Run. Students between the ages of 10 and 13 are encouraged to walk the Fun Run (as opposed to run in it) due to health and safety reasons. Any students who are over 18 years of age and who have trained sufficiently are eligible to participate in the half marathon. Parents and staff may also choose to participate in the half and full marathons as they wish.

When is it happening?

The Kilimanjaro Marathon takes place in Moshi on Sunday March 1st 2009 and routes are posted at www.kilimanjaromarathon.com. The Fun Run route is shown below.

Many thanks for your support!

Why should I take part?

Entering a team into the Kilimanjaro Marathon will not only provide ISM with some excellent publicity in the region (all runners will be given a specially designed ISM T-Shirt), but is also an opportunity to raise some much needed funds for the ISM Scholarship Programme. All profit raised from this event will benefit ISM's Scholarship Programme, which develops and prepares talented and ambitious Tanzanian students for future leadership positions within the nation and Africa. Click here for more information on the ISM Scholarship Programme.

How much money could we raise?

The fee to join the ISM race team is Tsh 20,000/=, and if 50 people were to register for the ISM race team, then we could raise over Tsh 500,000/= for the ISM Scholarship Programme. Tsh 20,000/= covers your race fee, light refreshments, transport to and from the Moshi Campus and the race, a commemorative T-shirt and a donation to the ISM Scholarship Programme. Sponsorship forms are available to download here for those who wish to ask their family and friends to help them raise their entry fee.

If you do not wish to join the race, but you would like to sponsor a participating student, please click on the image on the left or the selection button below to make a donation to the ISM Scholarship Programme or purchase a race T-Shirt from the school office (Tsh 10,000/=).
