The school owns a clifftop house above a beach near Pangani on the Indian Ocean coast which is used as a field study centre for groups of students. Our S2 classes from both Moshi and Arusha campuses undertook a field trip to Pangani in November 2001.
Their studies include the historical importance of Pangani during the period of Arab rule and the slave trade, as well as under German and British colonial occupation. During their stay the students also examine coastal features including the rock formations along the coastline and the mangrove swamps. They additionally undertake a number of meaurements on the beach. |
